Resident Testimonials

The St. Petersburg Housing Authority (SPHA) is proud to highlight the voices of our residents. SPHA Director of Communications, Nick Fokianos, is interviewing SPHA residents to share their stories, experiences, and successes.

Ms. Morris is a resident at The Legacy at Jordan Park. "I was here ever since 2023 and I love it," said Ms. Morris.

The Legacy at Jordan Park is a newly constructed, three-story, 60-unit senior midrise building, managed by SPHA.

Ms. Jasmine is a resident at Jordan Park. "My whole family has lived out here from decades ago, right. So, the fact that this establishment is still around and affordable for families is amazing," said Ms. Jasmine.

Jordan Park is a historic housing community managed by SPHA.

Richard just became a first-time homeowner. He was part of the Housing Choice Voucher Program through the St. Petersburg Housing Authority. Richard says the voucher gave him stability. "Since I'm getting older it's harder and harder for me to maintain a level of income that I would have to have if I didn't have a voucher, said Richard.

Richard wanted more than stability. He wanted homeownership. "Aside from it being cheaper than rent, all right, which is the main attraction, you have here an ability to be your own boss, you don't have to answer to the landlord, and you actually own something," said Richard.

Richard joined the SPHA Family Self-Sufficiency Program and Homeownership Program.
