Many community resources are available in St. Petersburg to assist residents in times of need. If you are in need of assistance, please follow the below steps.

  • Step 1: Call 2-1-1 or text your zip code to 898211 (texting will eliminate the phone hold time). 211 will provide you with the most up to date resources to match your current need. Services that 211 connects you with are varied and comprehensive, i.e. rent or utility assistance, mental health resources, etc. Many organizations' resources can only be accessed through 211.
*Tip: The earlier you can call, the better! During lunch hours there are often long hold times.
  • Step 2: If you're calling about utility assistance: please reach out to the gas, water or electric company who serves you and ask for an extension. Then ask the utility company what resources they have to help you.
  • Step 3: If you're calling about utility assistance: after you have called and requested an extension and called 2-1-1, call local churches in your area as they may have assistance for rent or utilities.
