Instructions for applying for Section 8

  • Applications for Section 8 vouchers will only be accepted when the waiting list is open. Currently, the list is closed, and SPHA is not accepting applications.
  • If you already are on the Section 8 wait list and would like to check your status, please CLICK HERE >.
  • SPHA staff will not inform applicants of their ranking. Applicants must find this information CLICK HERE >.
  • If your log in for the OWL system is not working, you must e-mail the software Tech Support. 
  • If you need to make a change to your submitted application, applicants must notify SPHA in writing. Applicants cannot make changes via telephone.
  • You must keep your e-mail address you entered on the application ACTIVE, as SPHA may communicate with you via this address. Be sure you add the @stpeteha.org domain to your 'Safe Senders' list on your e-mail account. If you have a change in e-mail address, you must notify SPHA in writing of your new e-mail address.

  • Applications for Public Housing will only be accepted when the waiting list is open.
  • When a wait list is open, applications must be submitted online at www.waitlistcheck.com/FL2738
  • If you already are on a public housing wait list and would like to check your status, please CLICK HERE>.

Affordable Housing at the former Edward White Hospital site
The wait list for affordable housing at the transformed former Edward White Hospital site is not yet open.
Construction has not yet begun. Plans are underway! The renovated six-story, 121,000-square-foot building will feature 71 apartments for low-income seniors.
