St. Petersburg Housing Authority Empowers Youth with 3D Modeling Workshop
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The St. Petersburg Housing Authority (SPHA) introduced SPHA youth to the world of 3D modeling and design through an educational workshop hosted as part of SPHA's Gulf Futures 3D initiative.
On April 8, 2026, in partnership with the President Barack Obama Main Library, SPHA's Gulf Futures 3D Program hosted an Intro to Tinkercad Workshop, introducing youth to beginner-level 3D design and technology concepts.
Tinkercad is a free, online 3D modeling program that runs in a web browser. It is widely used in schools and beginner maker communities because its simple interface allows users with little or no prior experience to learn basic 3D modeling concepts.
SPHA's Gulf Futures 3D initiative is funded through a grant from the Gulf Research Program (GRP) of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine.
