ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The St. Petersburg Housing Authority (SPHA) is happy to share an update on construction at The Edward White Campus.

Work is underway to renovate the former Edward White Hospital building, which will be renamed The Edward White Campus. The six-story, 121,000-square-foot building is being transformed into a multi-story affordable housing complex featuring 71 apartments for households earning at or below 80% of the area median income (AMI). SPHA will also relocate its administrative offices to the new development, and Evara Health will establish a clinic at the site.

The site redevelopment plans were designed by Wannemacher Jensen Architects, and LEMA Construction is the general contractor bringing this transformative project to completion.

October 2025:
  • Interior demolition was completed.
  • The building was re-roofed.

November 2025:
  • The building envelope is in the process of being enclosed and waterproofed.
