SPHA Engages in Pinellas County PIO Meeting to Prepare for 2025 Hurricane Season

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. - The St. Petersburg Housing Authority (SPHA) is preparing for the upcoming hurricane season. On May 14th, SPHA Director of Communications Nick Fokianos participated in the Pinellas County Public Information Officer (PIO) meeting, held at City of Treasure Island City Hall.

At the meeting, representatives from various local agencies gathered to discuss recovery efforts from the 2024 hurricane season and share best practices for preparedness in advance of the 2025 season.

The 2025 Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1st through November 30th.

Household Hazardous Waste Spring Cleaning

The Pinellas County Solid Waste Department is encouraging residents to include disposing of household hazardous waste like old gasoline and other chemicals ahead of hurricane season.
