ST. PETERSBURG, FL - The St. Petersburg Housing Authority (SPHA) brought the community together for Fall Planting Day at the Jordan Park Community Garden on September 5, 2024.

Members of the Jordan Park Community Garden Committee, alongside many seniors, Job Corps volunteers, and community volunteers, joined forces to make the day a success.

The plantings included beans (various varieties), broccoli, cauliflower, eggplant (various varieties), Jamaican sorrel, passionfruit, peppers (various varieties), pineapple, pumpkins, spinach, sweet potatoes, and tomatoes (various varieties).

Attendees also admired the beautiful new garden mural created by Artist Catherine Weaver of Uniquely Original Art Studio.

SPHA extends its heartfelt thanks to Nathan Gula of Gula Gardens for his guidance in bringing the next phase of the garden to life!

The garden revitalization was made possible by a generous grant from AARP. CLICK HERE to read more about the grant SPHA received from AARP. >

This Fall Planting Day was the culmination of collaboration and hard work from residents, volunteers, and staff over the past year and a half. Many thanks to all that have contributed to bringing the Jordan Park Community Garden to fruition!
