SPHA Spreads Christmas Cheer

The St. Petersburg Housing Authority’s (SPHA) Adopt-A-Family program made this holiday season a little happier for one St. Petersburg family participating in the Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) program. On Tuesday, December 20th, SPHA staff gave Christmas presents to the Wallace family, which include two boys, ages six and ten, and two girls, ages two and 8 months.

The Wallace family’s home was broken into a few weeks before Christmas, and the intruder stole the presents that were set aside for the children.

Ms. Wallace said, “I was so grateful to hear that SPHA was willing to provide presents for my children. I am truly thankful.”

Chief Executive Officer Tony L. Love said, “Our staff wanted to make a difference in someone’s life this Christmas. This truly shows the caring spirit that we have here at SPHA.”

The presents for the Wallace family were purchased solely with personal donations from SPHA staff members.
