The St. Petersburg Housing Authority (SPHA) is hosting a Back to School event in Jordan Park for SPHA residents. The SPHA Back 2 School Bash will be a community-focused celebration to help SPHA families prepare for the new school year. SPHA youth will receive free backpacks and school supplies while enjoying an afternoon of fun, entertainment, and community connection.

Additionally, the City of St. Petersburg is sponsoring a tree climb activity and Icee treats, and Humana is sponsoring ice cream.

 

Featured Special Guest:

Chucky Atkins, NBA veteran and USF Athletic Hall of Famer, will be a featured guest at the event. He will be signing autographs for SPHA youth.

Kenneth Lavon "Chucky" Atkins is a former professional basketball player who played for nine different NBA teams throughout his career, including the Orlando Magic, Detroit Pistons, Los Angeles Lakers, and Detroit Pistons. A Florida native, Atkins played college basketball at the University of South Florida from 1992 to 1996. He is a member of the USF Athletic Hall of Fame.
