The National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO) has recognized the St. Petersburg Housing Authority (SPHA) with several national agency awards of merit for initiatives such as the Economies of Scale program, the Jordan Park HOPE VI redevelopment program, the Section 3 program and its Fraud Recovery program.
In September 2008, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) honored the housing authority with Best Practices awards for its Economies of Scale program, Homeless Veterans program and Training, Research, Audit and Compliance (TRAC) team.
