SPHA, SPC Hosting “Lunch & Learn” for Jordan Park Residents
ST. PETERSBURG, FLORIDA – On Friday, February 3, 2012, representatives from St. Petersburg College (SPC) and the St. Petersburg Housing Authority (SPHA) will host a “Lunch & Learn” program on educational resources from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Jordan Park public housing development (1245 Jordan Park Street South, St. Petersburg, FL 33712).
Participation in the “Lunch & Learn” program is limited to residents of Jordan Park. The program’s goal is to answer residents’ education- and training-related questions and to connect them with available resources.
SPHA Chief of Programs Melinda Perry said, “The ‘Lunch & Learn’ is a great opportunity for residents to learn how to apply for college or get their GED, what programs and services that SPC offers, and also what housing authority programs are available to help them.”
Dr. Kevin Gordon, Provost of SPC’s Downtown/Midtown Campus, and Mark Strickland, Associate Provost, will be on-site to share information about opportunities at the campus. SPHA staff will provide information on housing industry college scholarship programs and SPHA’s federally-mandated Section 3 program.
