Davis Joins SPHA Board of Commissioners, Lettelleir Reappointed to Board
ST. PETERSBURG, FLORIDA – The St. Petersburg City Council confirmed Mayor Rick Baker’s appointment of Delphinia Davis to the St. Petersburg Housing Authority’s (SPHA) Board of Commissioners, filling the seat recently vacated by former board vice-chairman, Commissioner Paul Yingst. Davis will be sworn in at the housing authority’s January 28, 2010, regular board meeting at the St. Petersburg Neighborhood Housing Services, 1600 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street South in St. Petersburg.
With the approval of the mayor and confirmation by the city council, SPHA Commissioner Joseph Lettelleir also was reappointed to the housing authority’s board for a four-year term.
Dr. Arnett Smith, SPHA board chairman, said, “We really appreciate the appointments, and we look forward to what our board can achieve in the coming year. I think that these two additions to the board will be an asset to the SPHA and the families we serve.”
The seven-member SPHA Board of Commissioners is responsible for oversight and policy-making for the housing authority. SPHA board members are unpaid volunteers.
SPHA board meetings are open to the public and are held at 2:00 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of the month, except in July and December.
